The Gaming Giant Recruits Apex Legends Producer to Boost Challenged Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming third-person action-packed title known as this innovative game.

Leadership Transition Comes After Poor Feedback

Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at the development studio following the dismissal of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to the game's underwhelming early showing last autumn.

Recently, the company's top executive a key figure updated team members about this decision through an internal memo, which stressed that playtesting had shown the need for a more defined vision.

Ismailer noted that the developers is now overhauling Project Ethos with a renewed vision, aiming to better meet player expectations.

A Pattern of Strategic Acquisitions

This announcement echoes a comparable step taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the BioShock development group.

Here is the full message from the president's announcement:

Hello Everyone—

I understand you all just wrapped up your meeting - I hope you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the positive developments. Previously I shared you all a update, I stated the following: “I am confident in this crew. You all are some of the most driven and talented designers we have had the opportunity to collaborate with - and we’re looking forward for that relationship to continue.”

Given your hard work and versatility, especially over the last year, you repeatedly show that.

The player input from last autumn’s the game demo was informative. It validated the potential of a roguelike shooter but made clear we still had work to do. It revealed the requirement for a more distinct identity.

It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve progressed. You accepted the feedback to heart and revamped the title with a revitalized goal - one that’s poised to achieve its promise to our fans.

The trust in Project ETHOS strengthens every day. To boost the outstanding development you’ve made, I’m excited to welcome the new hire as the new Director of 31st Union. After a period of discussions, Ben comes aboard us on the specified date.

Ben’s leadership and background in the PVP shooter field is extensive, having spent the past decade and a half producing and managing some of the most well-known titles in the industry, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and more recently, the battle royale hit.

Please join me in welcoming him next week. We are all eager to continue witnessing the development of Project ETHOS in the weeks to follow.

"Create your ideal gameplay session—or face defeat—in this engaging over-the-shoulder adventure! Build your hero in live gameplay to suit your personal playstyle," the description explains. "Face the rivals with new abilities, challenges, and tests that shift every round. Do you leave securely with your collected items? Or aim high, risk it all, and pray your group can secure victory? The option is in your hands."

Project Ethos does not have an announced debut schedule or platforms, but fans can expect more updates as production progresses.
